Sharing.....

I am UNIQUE because...
I prefer to be barefoot all year long.
I have to make a bigger mess... before I can start to clean.
I go through seasons of feeling very social and other times of just being a homebody.
I cry when butterflies emerge from their chrysalis.
I love creepy shows and movies... especially if they involve vampires and/or fairies.
I still truly BELIEVE in MAGIC..... I just call it MIRACLES now....

I am a good friend because...
I listen... and truly HEAR...
I love and pray for my friends...
When I make a commitment to someone, I stand by it.
I am always on time.
I support my friends and encourage them...even when I disagree.
I am loyal.
I tell the truth... even if it hurts sometimes.
When my friends are hurting, I hurt with them.

I am a bad friend because...
I can't go to them, they always have to come to me.
I can't always return the favor.

I am sad because...
I miss my doggy Ziggy.

I am BLESSED because...
I have a fantastic man, who loves me, supports me, and encourages me everyday.
My CHILDREN have the BEST FATHER EVER!
I have good friendships.. that have stood the test of time and the repetitive testing of my own insanity... and will be forever.
I am blessed in countless ways.
I enjoy simple pleasures...
I love my tiny apartment.
I love the weather right now.
I know there is a DIVINE purpose and plan for my life.. that exceeds my own plans.

I am excited for...
Christmas decorating, cooking, and sharing.
A New Year
Kids tearing through gifts Christmas morning.
Growing in my spirituality.
Getting healthier, physically and emotionally, every day.

I think this is a fun little game... to reflect... Do it on your blog and share the link here. Id love to read yours! Have a Blessed Monday.

Giving Thanks

Happy Autumn everyone!!!

This is my favorite time of year.... The weather finally cools enough here in Florida to actually get out and do stuff without being drenched in sweat and suffocating from the humidity. And there is always tons of great fairs, festivals, and open air markets to go to!!

I have been busy getting ready for a Fall Harvest Fair that I will be vending at later this month... Lots of Little Tweetie bird ornaments, wristlets, and other great stuff to give as Holiday gifts!

My new blogger friend Shannon over at Free Spirit Knits is celebrating the season with Thirty Days of Giving Thanks, and I have decided to participate!! So go check out her beautiful blog, and keep an eye out sometime this month for a chance to win one of my zippered wristlet clutches!!!

THE FOLLOWING IS TAKEN FROM FREE SPIRIT KNITS BLOG......

It's simple.

Take a moment each day in November and thank someone in your life.

Send a text, make a call, leave a post-it,
write an old fashioned letter...

Make eye contact.
Smile.
And say, "thanks."

It doesn't matter how you thank them. Simply think of someone in your life - each day - and tell them why you are thankful for them. Give them your thanks.

Thank thirty people in thirty days.

Can't think of thirty people?

Look more closely at the people you encounter in a day.

The postman.
The barista.
The nice man at the bank.
The woman who always stamps your parking ticket.
Your neighbor down the street.

Is there a local store owner who makes you feel welcome every time you shop?
Do you have a favorite sacker at the grocery store?
How about someone you work with that makes you laugh?
Is there a person from your past that you always wished you would have thanked?
Do you have a favorite hair stylist, or a massage therapist, or have you appreciated the listening ear of a good friend?
Did you ever thank your favorite teacher?
Has anyone helped change the course of your life?
What about someone you are really close to - like your kids or spouse - what thanks would you like to share with them?

If you choose to join us - let Shannon know! You can leave a comment on her blog, or email her at livefreely@mac.com.

EcoBella ~ Feminine Funky Fashion

For some time now I have been dreaming of a line of clothing that was fun, funky, flirty, feminine, unique.... and most importantly RECYCLED. I am a thrift store junkie. I love them.... I can't help it. I would rather shop at the Goodwill over the (*gasp*) mall any day. There are so many reasons that I prefer to shop this way.... economic of course tops the list... But there is also the environmental reasons, too. So many people wear an item once or a handful of times, and then never look at it again, even though there are years of use left in it. So I wanted to take some of those clothes that spoke to me, and make them fabulous again, new again.

EcoBella clothing will always be based on recycled fabrics and textiles, from clothing, linens, and other rescues.

So over the last week or so I have been working on making that dream a reality. So, without any further babble.... I introduce to you....

Adventures in Creativity

Welcome to My Piece of Peace!!

I started this blog to share my inspirations, my creative projects, and other randomosity that piques my interest. I will be posting all sorts of things so be sure to check back every now & again!

A little about me:

I am a single mother of 2 wonderful kids, living in the central Florida area. I fancy myself to be an artist, and I love to create all sorts of things. Growing up, I wanted to be a famous painter, but it turned out that I am too scattered in my interests to stick to one ,medium for very long. So now, I mess around with lots of things, but my focus has been on sewing for the past couple of years. Right now, I am working on different ways to recycle/upcycle clothing. I also make handmade "Room Shoes" (an uppity term for good ole slippers), purses and totes, and various home decor items. My work can be found for sale on both facebook and etsy, so be sure to check it out!!!

I am also a professional face-painter. This is a little side business that helps with cash flow every now and again, and is super fun. The kids sure do love it!! You can find me at art shows, community fairs, music festivals, etc.

I also have a little hobby of product reviews for several websites I have found and joined. There is nothing better than a good deal.... and the best deals are FREE!! Over the past year, I have started getting really friendly with the mail man.... I guess I will have to do something nice for him come the holidays, to repay him for delivering all those packages!! So occasionally I will blog about freebies and great deals I have found, and products I have received to review. I will always post on how you can participate in similar programs!
